What returns can I expect?

Target Return

Our target return annually is 15%** to the client net of all fees. Our actual performance is listed in the table below.

Why an annual target?

Share market linked investments are time sensitive and opportunity based so our 15%pa target return should not be taken to mean that you will earn 1.5% per month. It is harder to predict a monthly return than a yearly one. Thus, we find it easier to offer a target annual return.

Active, high conviction managed share investment
The actively managed nature of the accounts means our primary investment position is cash. Your money is held in a high yield CMA until it is allocated to a trade; once that trade is completed the money is deposited back into your CMA where it continues to earn interest until the next trade is placed. At any one time you could expect to be invested between 0% and 100% depending on the market at the time.

Direct access to the manager. Anytime.
Unlike other managed investments or managed funds, you can speak directly with the William Shaw investment managers anytime. The manager is there for you, to support your investing over the long term. If you would like to discuss our trading and investment strategy along the way, we welcome your call.

Investment Updates
Each time we make an investment on your behalf, we email you a detailed investment brief which includes information about the position we have either entered or exited. If we have entered a new position we will detail any relevant macro and micro economic information, it’s weighting in the portfolio, and catalysts we see for movements in the stock and an expected time frame. When exiting a trade we will include specific information about why we exited, the impact the trade had on portfolio and specific gain or loss figures on that trade.
